The proposed Government Performance and Results Act, or GPRA, metrics for SWPC are based on the performance of geomagnetic storm forecasts. The annual goal for geomagnetic storm forecast accuracy represents a minimum percentage of cases for which a geomagnetic storm forecast was successfully issued and verified over the following 48 hour period. To account for solar cycle variability and to maintain statistical significance, this metric is assessed over either a minimum of a year or the 30 most-recent geomagnetic storms.
