G1 (Minor) Geomagnetic Storming Conditions Reached

G1 (Minor) storm levels reached at 06/0300 UTC
G1 (Minor) Geomagnetic Storming Conditions Reached
published: Thursday, January 07, 2016 01:04 UTC

The expected G1 (Minor) storming conditions were reached at 06/0300 UTC (05/2200 ET). Solar wind speeds continue between 600-650 km/s due to coronal hole high speed stream effects. Any prolonged period of southward interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) deviation is expected to cause further G1 storming; therefore, the G1 Warning continues until 06/1000 UTC (06/0500 ET).
