G1 (Minor) Watch in Effect for 6 December, 2017

G1 Watch 6 December, 2017
G1 (Minor) Watch in Effect for 6 December, 2017
published: Thursday, December 07, 2017 00:05 UTC

A G1 (Minor) geomagnetic storm watch is in effect for the 06 December UTC-day. Solar wind speed reached 600 km/s by 05/2000 UTC (1500 ET) due to influence from the positive polarity, polar connected coronal hole high speed stream (CH HSS); therefore the potential for likely periods of G1 storming exists. Minor storm levels were reached on 5 December, at 1017 UTC (0517 ET) and again at 1407 UTC (0907 ET). Continue to visit our SWPC webpage for the latest updates.
