Geomagnetic Activity - WMO Product Portal

Geomagnetic Activity Forecast

Plot of past 3 days of Kp Index
Product Description:
Daily probabilities of high-latitude, mid-latitude, and
planetary geomagnetic disturbance levels over the next one,
two, and three days.

Target Users:Product users include industries sensitive to strong variations
in the geomagnetic field, such as: electric power, pipeline, drilling,
and surveying.
Geomagnetic Activity Forecast
Cadence: Daily
Data Source: Solar and solar wind measurements, ground-based magnetometer measurements, and numerical prediction models of the solar wind and solar disturbances

Current Geomagnetic Activity Alerts

thumbnail of current alerts
Product Description:
Timeline of currently active and recent alerts of geomagnetic activity.
Alerts are issued when ground-based magnetometer fluctuations exceed
predetermined thresholds.

Target Users:Product users include industries sensitive to strong variations in
the geomagnetic field, such as: electric power, pipeline, drilling,
and surveying.
Current Geomagnetic Activity Alerts
Cadence: As Issued
Data Source: Ground-based magnetometers
