A G1 (Minor) storm watch is in effect for the 1-2 August, 2023 UTC days. A coronal mass ejection (CME), associated with a filament disappearance, erupted from the Sun late on 28 July. The CME was analyzed and model runs completed - with the majority of results suggesting an Earth-directed component is probable. While confidence in an Earth arrival is fair, timing and intensity are less certain. Should the CME arrive as anticipated, G1 storm levels are likely, with a chance for G2 (Moderate) levels beginning later in the evening of 31 July, with effects continuing into the overnight hours of 31 July-1 Aug (EDT).
