G2 Warning
G2 Warning Valid through 5/2100 UTC (5/1600 ET)
published: Tuesday, December 05, 2017 21:11 UTC

A G2 (Moderate) geomagnetic storm warning is now in effect today (5 December) until 2100 UTC (1600 ET). Solar wind speed was around 550 km/s as of 5/1400 UTC (0900 ET) and total interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) strength remains elevated due to influences from the positive polarity, polar connected coronal hole high speed stream (CH HSS). G1 (Minor) storming has already been met today at 1017 UTC (0517 ET) and again at 1407 UTC (0907 ET). Continue to visit our SWPC webpage for the latest updates.
