On September 29, SWPC deployed a new experimental Aurora Dashboard. This dashboard presents the best information to understand the likelihood of seeing the northern lights over North America. It includes maps of the aurora's likelihood and visibility over North America for the current and following  night.  A short-term 30-minute animated model prediction that shows the last 24 hours of aurora activity is also available. The dashboard provides supporting text forecasts and recent geomagnetic activity. Learn more about the aurora with new background information on the science of the aurora, along with viewing tips. The maps for tonight and tomorrow night’s aurora also have their own standalone page. If you have feedback or suggestions for improvements, please provide those via SWPC’s feedback page.
