G1 (Minor) Storm Watch Now in Effect for 26 Sep 2023

G1 (Minor) Storm Watch Now in Effect for 26 Sep 2023
published: Wednesday, October 04, 2023 04:51 UTC

Another CME is thought to have erupted in and around AR 3435 on 22 Sep 2023. This region continues to be one of the more complex regions on the disk and has a history of producing M-class flares. The CME was modeled (above), and while most of the eruptive material will pass behind and south of Earth’s orbit, any glancing influence is likely to create a minor geomagnetic storm response since conditions remain enhanced with another CME from 22 Sep. This earlier CME brought G2 (Moderate) levels of storming late on 24 Sep and G1 (Minor) levels today (25 Sep).
