GONG Space Weather Data Processing Transitioned to SWPC

SWPC and the National Solar Observatory (NSO) have operationalized the near-real-time processing of GONG space weather data. These observations update our view of the Sun every minute and are used both for monitoring solar activity and for modeling the solar wind and propagation of coronal mass ejections to Earth. SWPC has been supporting NSO’s sustained operation of the GONG network since 2016, and now the processing of its critical space weather data products has been successfully transitioned from NSO to SWPC’s operational environment. A joint press release provides more information.
